Sometimes referred to as caps, dental crowns cover existing teeth, restoring strength, function, and beauty. Patients with extensive tooth decay, broken teeth or cracked teeth that cannot be repaired with bonded fillings often require dental crowns. We can also use crowns to anchor a bridge, enhance the appearance of teeth, and restore teeth treated with root canals. A renowned Miami dental crowns provider, Dr. Edderai offers several types of crowns to suit your unique needs.
Metal – Made from gold, palladium, nickel alloy, or chromium alloy, metal crowns withstand the tremendous biting forces of back teeth. Biocompatible and long-lasting, metal crowns have proven to be a reliable method of tooth restoration.
All-Porcelain/Ceramic – Crowns comprised exclusively of porcelain offer unrivaled beauty. Often used for front teeth, all-porcelain crowns closely resemble natural teeth and can be designed to blend with your existing dentition.
Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM) – For North Miami Beach dental crowns patients who need back teeth restored, and don’t want metal showing, PFM crowns can provide a beautiful and durable solution. Fashioned from a metal framework and outer layers of porcelain, PFM crowns are created to closely resemble natural teeth.
Dr. Edderai proudly offers CEREC one-visit crowns. These all-ceramic crowns can be designed, manufactured, and placed in a single visit to our office. CEREC features CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/ Computer-Aided Milling) technology, which allows Dr. Edderai to design and fabricate the crown right here, in our dental office. Patients love the convenience of CEREC crowns, as well as the highly esthetic results.

Inlays and onlays may be used to place a tooth filling. Unlike flexible liners, which are molded to the shape of the mouth, inlays and onlays are made in a dental laboratory and then glued to the tooth by your dentist. An inlay is sitting in a hole in the tooth and an onlay is sitting on the tooth. They can be made tooth color, gold or composite. Different materials are adapted to different parts of the mouth and teeth parts.
Dental inlays in Miami
During the procedure with the famous North Miami Beach dentist Dr. Edderai, you will receive a local anesthetic to numb the area and any old fillings or tooth damaged bits will be removed. A mould is taken of the tooth to be repaired. The mold will guide the dental technician who performs the inlay or onlay. A temporary filling will protect the tooth before returning to our office to have the inlay or onlay glued in place. Dr. Edderai may make minor adjustments to ensure that the tooth is comfortable to bite on. Dental inlays and onlays are very strong, often for more than cram a ‘traditional ‘. They are also useful for the back teeth and major repairs for front teeth, where it can be difficult to make a white filling the natural air. In order to ensure that the inlay or onlay seems natural, we will match the color to your «natural» teeth
In addition to providing dental inlays, Dr. Edderai also performs many other dental procedures, including treatment of dental implants, porcelain veneers and Invisalign Miami patients. Our patients also come from Bay Harbor, Aventura, ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, Miami Beach and North Miami Beach.
Since their inception over 30 years ago, dental implants have become the leading tooth-replacement option. They consist of a titanium anchor, which serves as an artificial tooth root, and a natural-looking replacement tooth. With dental implants, Dr. Edderai can replace a single tooth or multiple teeth, or secure a full denture.
Commonly used in the medical field, titanium’s strength and biocompatibility make it perfect for applications in dentistry. The first step to place dental implants involves a brief oral surgery in which a specialist places the implant into the jawbone. Dr. Edderai will refer you to a trusted colleague for this portion of the procedure. In a period of three to six months, the bone tissue fuses with the implant, creating a secure foundation for a replacement tooth.
In the Next Step, Dr. Edderai attaches a specially modified replacement tooth or teeth to the implant post. Depending on your needs, Dr. Edderai may attach a crown, bridge, partial denture, or full denture. Care for the implant with daily brushing and flossing, as well as regular dental visits. Although the implant will not decay, you will need to practice good hygiene to ensure the health of surrounding teeth and gums. Once in place, dental implants last most people a lifetime.

Over time, teeth can wear down, decay, or break. Most adults over age 35 have lost at least one tooth, and 50 million Americans have lost all of their teeth. Dentures are a removable, long-term solution to missing teeth that can restore speech and chewing ability, as well as improve self-confidence. Miami / North Miami Beach dentures provider Dr. Edderai offers different types of dentures to accommodate your oral health needs.
These dentures replace all of the upper and/or lower teeth. Dr. Edderai will first extract any unhealthy teeth, and then take impressions to send to a dental laboratory. The lab handcrafts the dentures based on Dr. Edderai’s design. He will consult with you about the desired tooth shape and color, and he’ll also create an optimally aligned bite. The retention and fit depends largely on the condition of your gum ridges. Because gum tissue changes over time, full dentures will need to be realigned every seven to 10 years.
If you have missing teeth scattered throughout your smile, partial dentures offer an affordable solution. The partial denture consists of artificial teeth on a gum-colored base secured to remaining teeth with hidden clasps. You will need to carefully maintain your partial denture and the surrounding teeth to prevent additional tooth loss.
If your remaining teeth are worn, discolored, and non-functional, Dr. Edderai may suggest an over denture, which allows you to keep your tooth roots. The tooth roots stimulate the jaw bone and prevent gum recession and bone deterioration, so we recommend preserving them when possible. An over denture rests over existing teeth, which are capped to prevent decay. Alternatively, over dentures can be secured to dental implants (artificial tooth roots). Over dentures offer greater stability and don’t have to be realigned as often, because the gum and bone tissues recede less.
